Gibraltar Hotel Bowral

We stayed here in one of their larger rooms with our kids. they really enjoyed the size of the room, bath tub and the swimming pool. the outside golf area when nobody is playing is really nice for kids to run around. Good restaurant and bar. Polite staff. I recommend this hotel.

Just back from an excellent 2 night stay in the Gibraltar in Bowral. At check in we were advised we’d been upgraded to a superior king room overlooking the golf course. Really lovely room and bathroom, such a comfortable bed and armchair for reading while looking outside the little lake on the golf course. We went to the bar for dinner and drinks on the Friday - lovely spot by an open fire - the staff were all really nice and attentive. Also particular shoutout to Darren for providing the entertainment on the night! We ate breakfast in the hotel both mornings - all spaced out and socially distanced. Again the staff were really attentive and friendly. The food was fine - nothing spectacular but as it was included in our package we didn’t mind. We visited the bar for a drink before our dinner on Saturday night and the staff were quick to welcome us back and even remembered our drinks orders from the night before. My only criticism is the food menu in the bar is quite limited and the restaurant was very expensive so we opted to eat out the second night as we didn’t fancy the bar food again. The pool / spa is also closed due to Covid which was a shame but it just means we’ll have to come back! We played 9 holes on the stunning golf course on Sunday morning - again all the staff in the golf shop were excellent and really helpful. We are already planning our return visit!

Stunning hotel. The room was spacious and quiet. Bed and pillows (because we know that’s important) were super comfy. The room is very dark with the curtains closed so you definitely won’t be waking up to any light. The rooms are very quiet. Staff were very friendly. Highly recommend the hotel and will be staying here again.

Had the best stay at the Gibraltar Hotel. The location is perfect, staff are so accommodating, the food and drinks are excellent and beds are super comfortable. Perfect place to stay for a weekend in the Highlands. Hotel grounds and views from bedroom are incredible. Harvey’s bar worth a visit. Would definitely recommend.

My family and I hosted my mother's funeral here yesterday. The room and the outlook were lovely. Simon was very friendly and helpful with information regarding the facility, it's amenities and the sales process. I was, however, disappointed with these amenities, the service and the food provided. Guests alerted staff that there was no hand towel in the ladies toilets, on arrival. At the time of our departure, many hours later, this situation had not been rectified. There was a last minute rush to provide items that had been previously requested. The audio visual system was inadequate and unable to cater for our needs. The standard of the food was, at best, ordinary. Promised food items were not provided and staff appeared to not be prepared for our specific dietary requirements. The staff providing beverage and food services were very friendly and helpful, but sadly, the experience was sales and not service focused. Although staff were helpful with assisting us on the day, at no time did anyone come forward to see that our needs were being met. This experience added unnecessary stress to an already stressful day.
