What other say:
I got stabbed. They did not kiss it better, Terrible service.

Cessnock hospital does a great job for its community, however, the NSW government should seriously consider spending a few million upgrading the facility, removing old or unused asbestos ridden buildings, rejuvenating its greenspace, staff and public car parking areas. The area is the primary Hunter Valley wine industry base, the hospital - critical.

I was in hospital on 14th October 2019 for a colonoscopy with Dr vakil.
Results weren't wat I expected,Dr vakil very caring and concerned and referred me to a specialist.
Staff at cessmock were outstanding as always. Follow up call next day they were concerned for over my mental state. Wen ask who was the staff member that I thought was the most helpful... none you all were outstanding. Keep up the good work please
On behalf of my grandmother I'd like to thank the wonderful staff who looked after her when she was admitted after a fall recently.
She said that you were all fantastic and couldn't do enough for her so thank you all very much!
The St John's Ambulance people (and paramedics) were far more knowledgable and professional then the ED nurse here.. I would have been better off if I stayed put and refused transport to this hospital..
Be ready to be stereotyped! if you are a 30yo Caucasian female with stress in your life, they will assume you have made yourself sick or consumed drugs, possibly both, and they'll make these assumptions without even running your bloods/urine, proceed to get angry at you if you have any trouble understanding their demands, or if you don't feel comfortable stripping naked with the curtain open.. I wish I was joking.. I am deeply concerned about malpractice at this hospital especially for patients with any cognitive impairments..
If you have an episodic illness, any mental health issues, any history of trauma, or take any regular medications.. Be prepared to be blamed for everything..
I will say the doctors beside manner was fine, its the nurse who needs assistance and unfortunately they are the people you deal with most in hospital.
I am happy to say that this is the first time (and hopefully the last time) a medical professional has disrespected my basic rights in such a callous way. Thankful I have no need or desire to return to cessnock anytime soon, but I'll be thinking of all the poor sods who don't have that option. Best of luck!
